Week 102

Hello Friends and family,

I am grateful to be able to write and hear from you again this week. Thank you as well for all the Birthday wishes you have sent this way. It will be a great day.

It's been another great week here in Alaminos.

The First Counselor of the branch, Brother Balili, gave us a referral about 4 weeks ago to a less active family that had just moved back to our ward boundaries. After teaching one lesson to them we realized that 2 of their daughters haven't been baptized yet.
So we taught them the lessons and the Family enthusiastically returned with full fellowship and Gyn Gyn 12, and Ilaine 9 were baptized this last Saturday
This is the Osorio Family who lives extremely far away from the church and have no transportation, but still always seem to find a way to make it.
We lastly found a grove of trees.
I guess next week will be the last email I send from the Philippines.

Week 101

Hello Po,

I am grateful again for the chance to email you all again

I am very happy that my last area is here in Alaminos (Home of the 100 Islands) the most beautiful zone because I get to visit beaches like this. Patar Beach
and see views like this. The Tip of Bolinao
The work is also great because I get to look at things like this daily. (find the pig)
and I even get to work with some of the best of the best missionaries.

I am just very happy that I am here in the Philippines serving as a missionary in this true Church of Jesus Christ. Even though the time is wrapping up I still learn something new everyday and gain a stronger testimony of the atonement of Jesus Christ as I use it daily. I just want to say again I am grateful for you all and the love, support, and prayers you have given me. See you real soon. ❤

We are learning how to make Filipino food so I can cook when I am home.
Happy Birthday Sister Nor.
We visited the Beach again in Victoria Alaminos.

As the last final weeks wind down I really am just trying to enjoy every last bit of time I have left to work in the Philippines as hard as I can.

Week 99

Hello Friends and family,

It is great to be here and write to you all right now. I thank you again for all the emails, love, and prayers that I have received and felt from each and everyone of you.

My week here has been great and amazing things have happened such as...
Spending Valentines day with Elder Collier and Elder Collins. Best date yet!❤
We saw this guy riding a carabao and we were so close to asking him if we could ride it , but he turned right into the filed away from us.
This is the Humilde Family and Camela on the very left is the only active member of the family and Daniel at the bottom is progressing towards Baptism.
This is the walk to our house we take almost everyday.
This is our wonderful district who I love so much
Where's Waldo
Lastly we were blessed to have a beautiful Baptism this last Saturday for Dexter. Dexter will be an amazing addition to Alaminos First Branch and I can already see the potential he has even though he is just 23 years old.
Him and his soon to be wife, Jackie, are already planning their Temple Sealing this next year. I'll have to come back and visit for that.❤

That is all for this week,

Week 98

Hey Friends and Family,

Elder Collins and I are having a great time here in Alaminos 1st Branch. The work seems to be just flying by each day with great success is especially finding this week.
These are the Elders in our Branch Elder Taylor (Wisconson) Elder Lee (Utah) They are a huge part of the reason the time here in the mission seems to be running out fast.
It's a blast having them in our house and it makes every P-Day an Adventure. Last week was at Bolinao Falls.
The branch is also very supportive and it is a blessing to have this as my last area.
I love being a missionary and everyday as a missionary feels more of a blessing for me than it does for investigators because I am able to witness so many miracles.

Week 97

Hello friends and Family.

We worked in our area this week and drove by this beach and decided to take a pic of what we get to work by sometimes. We decided not to hang out too long due to the temptation to jump in even in our missionary clothes. I can wait one more transfer. haha
We had exchanges with the Elders in Bani. It was a blessing being able to work with all the Elders in this Zone because here are some of the best of the best due to the fact that Alaminos District is planning on becoming a Stake within the next year so each branch here has 4 Elders or Sisters. So we went from being a Zone of 12 Missionaries to 22.
This is Elder Collins and I doing our thang
This week we also said good bye to Elder Ramos because he has transferred now to become a Zone Leader in Carmen. Never forget!
Another great week. Thanks again for all the Love and support.

Week 96

Hello Friends and Family,

It's great to be here and write you again this amazing week here in Alaminos

This week we enjoyed another P-Day and I bought a couple of souvenirs, so I will not be going home empty handed.
My personal studies have becoming more investigator focused meaning as I am reading the Book of Mormon I think about how that specific verse or section will help other people in their lives. This way of studying is definitely more enjoyable, spiritual, and the 1 hour seems to just fly by.
The weather while proselyting has been great with it always being sunny, but with a nice cool beach breeze, so that  has been a nice blessing. I don't think that will last much longer so I will enjoy it while I can. 😊
I will just tell you that I love this branch and area so much and it is a huge blessing to have such amazing youth here that work with us all the time making our investigators feel very fellow shipped. There are five 18 to 21 year old youth that are all filling out their mission papers at the same time and it is great to work with them and help them prepare for their missions.❤
That is all for this week.

Week 95

This was sent by our beloved New Mission Secretary Elder Evans

Dear Huntington Beach California Stake,

One of our fine missionaries from your stake, Elder Collin Joseph Terry, will complete his mission on 27 March, 2019, with an honorable release and will be returning home. According to his proposed itinerary, he is scheduled to arrive in John Wayne on flight DL 5729 on March 27th at 4:02pm local time.

Elder Terry has rendered faithful service and has achieved substantial personal growth. His willingness to learn and the effort he has put forth for the growth of the Kingdom have been an inspiration to both members and missionaries alike. He has served in various areas and assignments where he has made a tremendous and is now serving as a Trainer. In these areas of increased responsibility, he has served faithfully, performed his duties well, and rendered valuable service. It has been a pleasure laboring with him in the Philippines Urdaneta Mission.

The time is at hand.

It still hasn't hit me yet that I'm old in the mission, but I am.

Last P-day we went to see the ocean for the first time in Elder Collin's life. I feel bad for people who live in the Mid West.
He took this great pic though of this fisherman
This P-day we went to Bani falls and met up with our boys
Last Friday was also Elder Collin's B-Day so we had a lot of hard work and "Appointments" this week. This was a great lesson with the Magto Family. hahaha
"Missionary work IS Missionary fun"

Love you all

Week 94

Hello Friends and Family,

I am very happy to write you again this amazing week. This week was particularly exciting due to the ground breaking of the Urdaneta Temple which we watched in our stake centers. The temple was announced back in 2010 and finally happened this week almost 9 years later. Elder Holland, the Philippines area presidency, and many other high up visitors such as mayors and government officials came to witness the event both members and non members. It was an honor to be here. Holland especially talked about the amazing history of the Philippines!! He talked about how there are around a million members and over 100 stakes in the Philippines and for us to understand how fast the work is here in this country he made 2 people in the congregation stand. First he had stand up the first missionary to ever serve in the Philippines who served around the 1960's and second he made stand the very first stake president, temple president, and area seventy. Both of them still alive and well.
Hearing this amazing news just got me excited to be apart of this amazing history.
So mater where we need to go we will find a way
and enjoy ourselves along the way. 😁
I got my package! The beef jerky was the best and I am pretty sure that is Allison on the cover of the wubble

Week 93

Hello Friends and Family.

This week was literally the best filled with lots of great memories and adventures and I am just so happy to be here and work as a missionary. As most of you know Missionary work is hard, but I can say it doesn't feel like work at all and the week just goes by so fast because of all the great things we get to do.

On Saturday we had a baptism for these amazing people and seeing them enter into the waters of baptism was just a great blessing.
We had Zone Interviews this week and on Elder Ramos' Birthday HE made chicken Adobe for us. He is very sweet. We had some visitors as well. (Sister Espinosa, Elder Nielson, and Elder Stevys)

Don't worry later that night we bought Elder Ramos a cake and had an FHE at our Investigator's house.

We had 3 Community Service Projects this week and one of them was fixing the electricity in someone's house. Good thing Elder Collins and Elder Tay Tay know what their doing cause I had no clue. haha

The other Service projects we did consisted of clearing a school classrooms from remodeling and cutting down an over grown bamboo tree and planting new ones.
Earlier this morning we woke up at 5 am to go hiking. It was way fun because a ton of the youth and single adults from our branch wanted to come and we had a blasts exploring huge caves.
There were so many more pics from this week, and I would love to share everything with you, but every P-day at around 3 we have members and a lot of non-members as well come over the the church to play volleyball with us, so I will just have to write more next week.

Sending Love to you all

-Elder Terry

Week 92

agyamanak,
Hello I am back mga mahal ko. I am happy again to be here and write about this great week in Alaminos.

I realized last week I didn't give too much info so I will try to update you more this week and the stuff that went on here

Here is a pic of the house that we live in. It is only a 2 minute walk from the church and city and it is PINK. Random people we meet on the street refer to us as the guys from the pink house which is kind of weird.
We were in a trio this whole week with Elder Ramos being our addition, the cuteiest , sweetiest, and shortiest filipino guy in the world and is going to train a new guy named, Elder Taylor.
We are having a great time here together burning trash together, zapping bugs, lizards, and each other, and saving goats lives.
Elder Ramos saved their lives
yeh
If you have any more questions you would like to know just let me know and I will be sure to write more about it next week.

Love,

Elder Terry
